Flash-Butt rail welding in plant. (2 videos).

(Versión en español aquí: http://ingjoseguerrero.blogspot.mx/2013/10/soldando-por-chisporroteo-rieles-en_4.html )

The best option to form Continuous Welded Rails is by welding standar rails in plants. In this way may be obtained rails with hundreds of meters long. Here we can see a video of a rail welding plant. (Thanks BrastanRailroad).

The procedure is similar to Flash-Butt welding on site (see procedure here: http://ingjoseguerrero.blogspot.mx/2013/10/flash-butt-rail-welding-on-site.html ), but in a plant it is faster because it is a continuous production line.

How Continuous Welded Rails are transported? The answer is, again, by train. In the following video we see a "rail work train" that carries Continuous Welded Rails up to 700 meters long. (Tanks @LanceCampeau).
